RULES FOR PHOTOCOPYING AND SCANNING LIBRARY MATERIALS                           
                             
* Photocopying and scanning of copyrighted materials is permitted only for personal, educational or research purposes, in accordance with Articles 14 and 15 of the RA Law “On Copyright and Related Rights”. 

* To ensure the implementation of the above-mentioned law, the NLA has adopted certain restrictions, according to which it is permitted to copy and scan: 

• One complete chapter of a book or extracts from more than one chapter without exceeding 10% of the whole book
• One complete article from a single issue of a journal, collection of articles, or extracts from different articles without exceeding 10% of the whole edition

* These restrictions do not apply to dissertations, as photocopying or scanning of dissertations is wholly prohibited

* Photocopying of newspapers, maps and other non-book items is prohibited         

* Photocopying more than one copy of an item is prohibited

* Items which are free of copyright can be photocopied without restriction
