Literature in accessible formats has a special place in the collections of the National Library of Armenia. This library's around 2,000 braille-printed books and periodicals allow visually impaired readers read both fiction and educational materials in a number of languages. The National Library of Armenia provides readers with visual and other physical disabilities that prevent them from reading the opportunity to use the high-quality Armenian audiobooks of VLUME digital library via a free subscription. VLUME offers over a thousand (and growing) Eastern and Western Armenian literature titles in both ebook and audiobook formats. Bookshare is a specialized online library of e-books for people with visual and other physical impairments that prevent them from reading. Project Gutenberg and Microsoft have worked together to create thousands of free and open audiobooks using new neural text-to-speech technology and Project Gutenberg's large open-access collection of e-books. This project aims to make literature more accessible to people with visual and other physical impairments that prevent them from reading and also to all audiobook-lovers everywhere and democratize access to high quality audiobooks.
