On July 6, the international conference “Prospects of Armenian Philology” was held at the National Library of Armenia, organized on the initiative of the Presbytery of the Western Diocese of the USA (the secretary of the commission is Norayr Poghosyan) and in collaboration with the National Library of Armenia.

The conference began with a greeting from the spiritual pastor of the Armenian Church of Seattle, Vazgen Kahan Boyajian, addressed to the head of the Western Diocese of the USA, Hovnan Arch. Advisor to the director Nerses Hayrapetyan made a welcoming speech on behalf of the library. At the plenary session, Deputy Director of the National Library for Scientific Work Haykanush Ghazaryan spoke with a report “Repositories of the National Library. Support for Armenian Studies". The library databases “Armenian Book”, “Armenian Press”, “Consolidated Repository of Armenian Dissertations” and “Digital Repository” were created primarily to support Armenian studies, facilitate the search for necessary materials and ensure the availability of digital content.

Useful presentations were made by Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, scientist-philologist Sevan Teirmenjyan (Istanbul, Turkey), Doctor of Philology, Professor Aelita Dolukhanyan, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vazgen Hambartsumyan, Doctor of Philology, Professor Samvel Muradyan and others. The National Library of Armenia is ready to cooperate with organizations conducting Armenian research on the history of Armenian culture.
