The National Library of Armenia has organized a literary exhibition as part of a series of events honoring the 130th anniversary of the birth of Diaspora Armenian prose writer Hamastegh (Hambartzum Kelenyan). Nearly all of the author's literary works were showcased by the initiative of the Scientific and Current Press Reading Room staff. The event began with an introduction by Arevik Zakharyan, Head of the Reading Room.

One such representative of Armenian prose who, through his writings, helped to establish a new standard of Diaspora Armenian literary thought is Hamastegh. His novels and stories, including "The Village," "The Rain," "People and Soil," and "Life and the Wind," are notable for their profound understanding of reality and their straightforward yet intricately detailed inner worlds. The Armenian village's suffering and faith, as well as the unbreakable bond between memory and land, are echoed in his works.

"The literary merit of Hamastegh is one of the achievements of our spiritual culture, as an affirmation of the Armenian right to exist," said Dr. Margarita Khachatryan, a literary critic and Doctor of Philological Sciences, in a public lecture during the event. The Armenian national temperament completes the human portrait of its heroes. For the benefit of today's and tomorrow's Armenian generations, let us gain a deeper understanding of Hamastegh's literary teachings. The exhibition will be open for one week.
