Within the framework of the “Saroyan Days” program, the National Library of Armenia opened an exhibition titled “William Saroyan in the Nation: His Cultural Influence and Armenian Publications.” The exhibition featured Armenian translations of Saroyan’s works exclusively. The event’s guest of honor was Scott Sedrakian, President of the William Saroyan Foundation. He donated one of Saroyan’s original, unpublished artworks to the library, which will find a place of honor at the National Library. Speaking about the significance of Saroyan’s literary legacy, Scott Sedrakian expressed hope that one day a Saroyan corner would be established at the National Library. The Director of the National Library of Armenia, Anna Chulyan, also presented the “William Saroyan” digital collection created within the unified catalog of Armenian libraries https://is.gd/Mc3mhY, which will be continuously updated with new materials, eventually becoming a complete repository of Saroyan’s literary heritage.

Zaven Boyajyan, the translator of William Saroyan’s works, spoke about the new translations of Saroyan’s publications, emphasizing their importance and necessity. In his view, it is more essential than ever to revisit Saroyan’s works through new translations: "Many believe that Saroyan’s works have been fully covered by the already published collections, but I assure you, this is not the case. Numerous works of Saroyan are particularly significant for us Armenians, and they must be translated."
