The National Library of Armenia at the III International Forum of Children's and Youth Books of the CIS Countries

The Third International Forum of Children's and Youth Books of the CIS Member States brought together specialists from the library, publishing and educational sectors of the CIS countries. Folklore as a strategic foundation for children's education, reading promotion, and cultural identity creation was the main topic of the forum.

Participating at the event, Astghik Khachatryan, Head of the External Relations Department of the National Library of Armenia, gave a report on the subject of "Armenian Folklore in Educational Programs: New Forms of Preservation and Transmission of Heritage." Best strategies for conserving Armenian folk history and implementing it in the classroom were highlighted in the report.

Libraries, publishing houses, theaters, and cultural organizations from different countries showcased successful strategies for the contemporary application of folklore at the event, ranging from reading aloud and drawing to using new technology and media.
