The National Library of Armenia works closely with the Lebanese-Armenian Library of Harut Khachaturian and the Beirut GOAR Library, which specializes in collections of songs, musical aids, and dictionaries. Recently, the National Library received seven sets of books as a gift from the GOAR library. These are books restored by local specialists.
The GOAR library was opened in 2012 on the occasion of two important anniversaries for Armenia: the 500th anniversary of Armenian printing and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Sayat-Nova. The library also contains examples of Armenian miniatures, handwritten books, and writings on the Kingdom of Cilicia, as well as a collection of flags and coins. Libraries and various research institutions are important for the preservation and development of the traditions of Armenian culture. We are confident that our cooperation will be permanent.
