The National Library of Armenia hosted the second day of the EIFL Annual Conference on October 1. It provided an important opportunity for representatives of the international library and academic community to share their experiences and address fundamental topics of open science and access to knowledge. Over the course of the day, several important topics were covered:

Copyright and Republishing Rights (SPR) – Teresa Hackett, EIFL’s Copyright and Libraries Program Manager, presented new copyright enforcement tools and the example of Slovenia, where SPR has been enshrined in national law. Diamond Open Access Publishing – Representatives from Nepal, Serbia and Tanzania shared successful experiences, highlighting the importance of ensuring quality and sustainability. Paul Samuel Muneja, Sagarj Raj Subedi, Tatjana Timotijević, and Milica Ševkušić spoke at the session.

Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) – The experience of using DOI, ORCID and ROR identifiers and their role in increasing the accessibility and recognizability of scientific results was discussed. Irina Kuchma, Girma Aveke Denkayehu, and Militsa Ševkušić were the speakers. The participants had the chance to talk about the newest tools on the OpenAlex platform, the difficulties with repositories, and the application of artificial intelligence in libraries, in addition to the main reports. At the end of the day, a meeting was held with publishers, which highlighted the need to deepen international cooperation. Unity around the concept of free and equal access to knowledge was once again underlined on the second day of the EIFL conference.
