On March 30, another public lecture on the topic “Fashion as a social phenomenon” was held at the National Library of Armenia.   
The speaker was a Professor of the Yerevan State Academy of Arts Nune Aghbalyan.   
Aghbalyan presented the history of fashion development, told how clothes have changed from time immemorial to the present day, and how it combined Eastern cultural traditions with European ones. The audience, among whom were mainly students of Professor Aghbalyan, took part in the event with great enthusiasm. 

 

At the end of the event, full of spring colors and a warm mood, Nune Aghbalyan donated to the library seven canvases made with aniline paints on silk fabric, reflecting the history of national fashion. The paintings will complete the rich art collection of the National Library of Armenia.
