According to statistical data for ten regions of the Republic of Armenia and the Yerevan Avetik Isaakyan City Library, the list of the most requested art books in public and municipal libraries for April 2023 includes 81 titles. In the April list, there are 28 Armenian classical and contemporary writers and 30 foreign writers whose books the readers took home or studied in the reading rooms. It is good that the first three of the ten most popular books are by Armenian authors.

The most popular book among readers this month is Chaos by Shirvanzade, which was ordered and read more than 60 times. The inclusion of the book in the list of 5 district libraries is explained by the fact that Shirvanzade's novel is included in the compulsory school reading program. The classic Armenian author is followed by two contemporary writers — Ashot Agababyan with the novel Alone and Sune Sevada with Salt Tea. Agababyan also appears in the top ten with The Trap. His novels are also leading in Yerevan and Kotayk Region.

Many authors are represented in the top ten with two books. Herman Hesse is included in the list with three books. The selection of popular authors in libraries has not changed in recent months. Seven novels by Agatha Christie enjoy unchanging popularity. Erich Maria Remarque, the favorite writer of youth, is one of the most requested authors, he appears on the list with five novels. Among the most requested authors are Derenik Demirchyan, Vardges Petrosyan, Goar Navasardyan, Khaled Hosseini, Mark Levy and Jojo Moyes. And what book are you planning to read in May?
