On February 19, Book Giving Day, the grand Tamanian hall of the National Library of Armenia hosted a special event dedicated to the celebration of books. The gathering welcomed publishers, library donors, staff from regional and community libraries across the country, as well as supporters of books, reading, and libraries.

In her opening remarks, Anna Chulyan, Director of the National Library, greeted the guests and emphasized the significance of Book Giving Day. This year’s Book Giving Day was particularly significant for more than 15 regional and community libraries, which received valuable fiction, nonfiction, and children's literature published in recent years. The books were donated by the Office of the President of Armenia. In his speech, Vahram Dumanyan, Advisor to the President, highlighted that this initiative—now in its third consecutive year—has become a tradition of donating books to libraries across the country.

During the event, Anna Chulyan announced the names of three publishing houses that, in 2024, had fully met their legal deposit obligations by submitting mandatory copies of their publications to the National Library. These publishers were awarded "Publisher of the Year" certificates along with copies of the first Armenian map, Universal World Map (Համատարած աշխարհացոյց).

The artistic part of the event featured performances by students of the "Byur Astgh" program of the "Maestro" Cultural Organization. The book festival at the National Library continues!
