In anticipation of Book Giving Day, the National Library of Armenia hosted a meeting today with renowned contemporary writer and journalist Ashot Aghababyan, attended by nearly twenty regional, community, and school libraries.
The libraries received copies of Ashot Aghababyan’s latest books, Black Panther and The Double, as a gift from the author. In turn, the National Library presented the libraries with books by Mkrtich Sargsyan, Yervand Azatyan, and Ara Ter-Khachatryan, catering to a wide range of reader interests and literary tastes.
It is worth noting that Ashot Aghababyan’s books have consistently been among the top ten most requested fiction books at the National Library of Armenia each month. In 2024, his books Black Panther, The Resident, The Master of Secrets, and The Lonely One have ranked among the most borrowed titles nine times.
In his opening remarks, Ashot Aghababyan emphasized the importance of maintaining strong ties with libraries and noted that he frequently meets with readers. During the warm and informal gathering, library representatives shared interesting stories about their experiences reading Aghababyan’s books and about their libraries in general.
