A festive atmosphere reigned in the National Library of Armenia on December 27. The library concluded the cycle of events dedicated to the 105th anniversary of its foundation with a warm and festive New Year. This event was a special gift from readers - an expression of gratitude to librarians who, with their selfless work, support thousands of readers and visitors to the library, satisfying their information and research needs.

“The most important thing for the existence of a library is its readers. If they exist, then there are libraries, the presence of readers justifies the existence of libraries,” said Anna Chulyan, Director of the National Library of Armenia, in her speech.

The joyful musical program included performances by our guests: Charlotte Diloyan, Mariam Mirzoyan, Eric Barseghyan, Inga Avetisyan, Arman Shirvanetsi and others.  The participants of the event were greeted by their performances by talented students of the Byur-Asth project: cellist Vahe Danielyan, who performed Karl Davidov՛s Waltz՛ to the accompaniment of Ruzanna Avetisova՛s piano, and talented musicians Meri Musinyan and Kristine Yengoyan, who performed Nicolo Paganini՛s Venetian Waltz'.

The young musicians of the Armenian Folk Instruments Ensemble Musheg Nazaretyan and Sons; together with their director filled the hall with bright and fiery performances, causing prolonged applause. The warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of the event once again emphasized the friendly ties that have developed between the readers and the library staff, reminding us that the National Library is not only a center of science and culture, but also an environment for social cohesion. The hosts of the evening program were journalist Simon Hovhannisyan and library employee Srbuhi Hakhverdyan.
