This library week began with a significant event. On Monday, February 10th, a wonderful exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the poet, prose writer, publicist and cultural scientist Kostan Zaryan opened in the Tamanyan Great Exhibition Hall. Nerses Hayrapetyan opened the exhibition and drew attention of those present to important materials.
The exhibition features more than 50 books by the writer in Armenian and foreign languages, photographs, archival documents and other materials. For the first time, Kostan Zaryan’s birth certificate is presented to the public, confirming that the writer was born on February 8, 1885. Among the exhibited materials is an impressive transcript of one of his public lectures in Holland on October 20, 1926, as well as several autographs of the poet.
After the opening of the exhibition, in one of the halls of the library, viewers listened to a lecture by literary scholar Yervand Ter-Khachatryan on the life and work of Kostan Zaryan for about two hours.
At the end, the director of the library Anna Chulyan summed up the event and thanked the speaker and the audience.
