2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most prominent Armenian poets Zahrat. In July, the National Library organized an exhibition of almost all of Zahrat's books at the Tamanyan Small Exhibition Hall.
In the anniversary year, a collection of works dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Zahrat 100 Selected Zahrat was published, compiled by the head of the Information and Publishing Department congregant of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Hovakim Serovbyan. He donated two copies of the book to the National Library of Armenia, which will soon replenish the library's extensive collection.
The collection presents a selection of Zahrat's best poems from different periods of his career. 100 Selected Zahrat is a unique guide to the diversity of the poet's work, highlighting the themes that adorn his poetry. The collection not only deepens the connection between the poet and the reader but also emphasizes the place and role of Zahrat in the history of Armenian literature.
The book will be an excellent choice for both those who are getting acquainted with Zahrat's work for the first time and for those who want to immerse themselves in his work again.
