April Reading

The month of April was full of various library and literary events, which had an impact on the selection of literature served in libraries. There are more than 115 books on the combined list of the most bollowed books of more than 20 regional and community libraries. Ruben Yesayan, whose three novels rank in the top 10, is the most sought-after writer. The National Library of Armenia's reading marathon directly led to the inclusion of "Armenian Sketches" and "Fire Shirt" by Vardges Petrosyan in the top 10. Books by Rafael Margaryan, Paruyr Sevak, Grigor Keshishyan, Ashot Aghababyan, Alexander Shirvanzadeh, and Mark Levy are also among the top ten most read.

The April top ten also includes a number of new names and books that have appeared on the most popular book lists in libraries in recent months. Among them are "Kill the Butterflies Inside" by Anna Arakelyan, "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by American-British female author Tracy Chevalier, "Our Names Are Different Outside" by German-Armenian author Laura Zwirtnia, "Anatomy of Sorrow" by Haykuhi Gyudakyan, "The Taste of Lead" by Latvian author Maris Berzins, "Armine" by Turkish author Murat Ataş, "Twelve Years a Slave" by American abolitionist and activist Solomon Northup, "The Devil's Sorrow" by English author Maria Corelli, and other books.

It is well known that motivational and inspirational bestsellers are highly sought after by libraries. We requested that these highly sought-after publications be presented by our partners in April.
