Oct 06, 2025 News Book Map of Armenia

Armenian classical writer and playwright Levon Shant, with his drama "The Ancient Gods," contemporary mystic-thriller author Ruben Yesayan, with his book "13 km from the Tunnel," and documentary-based novelist Ashot Aghababyan, with "The Look-Alike," are the top three authors in the September top ten most-requested fiction books in Armenia's public and community libraries.
It is noteworthy that Ruben Yesayan and Ashot Aghababyan each made it into the top ten with two books. German author Franz Kafka, Colombian novelist Marquez, Derenik Demirchyan, modern Russia-based writer Mark Aren, and English author William Golding are among the most read authors, according to data from libraries that took part in the survey.
In September, libraries serve a fairly balanced number of books. The impact of the required reading program in schools and colleges is still minimal as the academic year gets underway. It is evident that fewer people are reading Agatha Christie's detective novels. There are also new names. Rafael Margaryan, the late Russian author Anna Jane (real name Anna Potapkina), the modern British author Chris Ewan, and others are in close pursuit of the top ten authors.
The book map of Armenia's regions shows the covers of the books that the regional library served the most often during a given month. This information is comparable to the total data for the month. As the covers of Ruben Yesayan's books flutter in the Ararat and Tavush regions, Ashot Aghababyan has "won" the hearts of the readers of Aragatsotn and Gegharkunik. The book that was served the most in Yerevan was "The Metamorphosis" by the well-known German author Franz Kafka.
