“Literary scholar Yervand Ter-Khachatryan devoted his life to a difficult and responsible mission — narration of the most fascinating of all inanimate objects: the book” Felix Bakhchinyan. On April 15, as part of the National Library Week, an event was held dedicated to the 75th anniversary of art and literary critic Yervand Ter-Khachatryan.
Writer, literary critic, and translator Felix Bakhchinyan presented the creative path of Yervand Ter-Khachatryan. “Ter-Khachatryan has a talent for deep analysis, linguistic and stylistic knowledge, and an aesthetic sense. He never ceases to amaze and fascinate with his ideas and conclusions, which never stand still, never repeat themselves,” wrote Felix Khachatryan in his new monograph “Yervand Ter-Khachatryan”.
This monograph by Bakhchinyan was presented by Ter-Khachatryan’s student friend, poet Artavazd Nazaryan. He also donated more than a dozen books and collections of his works to the National Library. Director of the National Library of Armenia Anna Chulyan noted in her speech that being appreciated during one’s lifetime is a great success, and Felix Bakhchinyan’s monograph deserves high praise.
An exhibition of Ter-Khachatryan’s books opened in the exhibition hall of the Tamanyan Library. The exhibition includes more than eighty books, including those with illustrations, compiled, edited, and annotated by an art historian. The exhibition featured 20 books by Kostan Zaryan, 19 books by Diaspora writers, as well as works by Wilhelm Matevosyan, Hakob Hakobyan, Panos Terlemezyan, Emil Gazaz and other world-famous artists.
