On January 15, one of the 10 most visited pages on the Internet, Wikipedia, celebrated its 23rd anniversary. Today, Wikipedia is available in 326 languages, the six largest of which are English, Cebuano (one of the languages of the Philippines), German, French, Swedish and Dutch. Wikipedia is also widely distributed in the Armenian Internet domain. The first Armenian entry on Wikipedia was made in January 2003.

In September 2023, a group of volunteers from the National Library of Armenia took the initiative to create and edit articles on the topics of library work and bibliography in the Armenian Wikipedia. Collaborating with Mher Bekaryan, responsible for the quality of content of the Wikimedia Armenia organization, the volunteers took part in a special training.

The following articles were created with the help of the Library Wikigroup։ International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. IFLA https://shorturl.at/stV15, National Library Week http://surl.li/pkaxh, Professional Code of Conduct for Librarians https://shorturl.at/oMNRW, Hakop Meghapart (commemorative medal) https://shorturl.at/eQVY9, Hrachya Kostikyan http://surl.li/pjzqv, Knarik Korkotyan https://rb.gy/cu46gj, Ninel Voskanyan http://surl.li/pjzve. Several articles were revised including the article about National Library of Armenia http://surl.li/pjzwi and the magazines “Pordz,” “Luma,” “Gorts,” and “Hyusisapayl.” The creation of articles related to library work continues. Soon the Armenian Wikipedia will be replenished with many professional articles in this field.
