The delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to Armenia, H.E. Ms. Silvana Leska Barolin, was on a working visit to the National Library of Armenia. The delegation also included the Head of the Consular Section, Nicolas Britos, and the Ambassador’s Assistant and Translator, Siranush Tititsyan Malkhasyan. Accompanied by the Director of the National Library of Armenia, Anna Chulyan, the delegation toured the Tamanyan branch of the library and became acquainted with its rich history, the main directions of its activities, and the work on the preservation and popularization of the national written heritage.
The possibilities for Armenian-Uruguayan cultural, literary, and scientific-educational cooperation, as well as potential future efforts to strengthen bilateral ties were reviewed during the discussion. In the framework of the National Library of Armenia's ongoing mapping and collection of Armenian printed heritage, the meeting provided a crucial foundation for discussing programs of mutual interest, encouraging cultural and educational exchanges, and outlining potential future directions of cooperation. As part of the visit, new publications were added to the Uruguayan Literature Corner, which is located in the National Library of Armenia's Main Reading Room. This is an additional step in fostering mutual recognition of literary heritage and strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.
