On the Occasion of World Poetry Day, Metsarents was Presented at the National Library Paper, thread, pencils, Misak Metsarents' books, Western Armenian dictionaries, a cup of tea... and some crazy assignments. But no "rules." This is how the poetry day at the library began. It "spoke" with colors, decorations, and... unexpected encounters. Metsarents was presented in a very different way on World Poetry Day; instead of just reading his lines, we "played" with them.
Artist Gohar Sargsyan led the workshop. Students from the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia (AFAA), along with Margarita Hovsepyan, the AFAA library's director, and staff from the National Library of Armenia, were split up into groups. Poems became more apparent, words became ornaments, and pictures appeared from the books as a result of a little creative craziness.
And each group “unveiled” Metsarents in its own way: one with colors, the other with shapes, the third with a new play on words. Meanwhile, in a corner, "The Box of Poetic Dialogue" continued its most intriguing but quiet project: letters, poems to strangers, little secrets, new acquaintances, and yet another reason to return to the library.
