The Center for Humanitarian Research of the New York Public Library is named after our compatriot, Armenian-American historian, co-founder of the Aurora International Humanitarian Prize Vardan Grigoryan.
Vardan Grigoryan made a huge contribution to the restoration and revival of the New York Public Library. He works as its president from 1981-1989. Under Grigoryan's leadership, the library became a world-class educational institution. The Humanities Research Center consists of four general education classrooms and two personalized halls.

The Center also has other program areas for research activities that make extensive use of the Library's collections and highlight the Library's capabilities.
The Vardan Grigoryan Center offers academic staff offices, fellowships, and access to study rooms for researchers and writers whose work benefits from intensive use of the library's collections.
