Another movie screening was held at the Cine Club by the National Library of Armenia. This time, the audience had the opportunity to watch the first full-length film by French director Mia Hansen-Löwe, “All is Forgiven” (“Tout est pardonné”, 2007). The film, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight and won the Louis Deluc Prize for Best Debut Film of the Year, is considered an important starting point in Hansen-Löwe’s creative journey.

“All is Forgiven” is a story about time, memory, loss and forgiveness. After spending years apart from her father, Pamela tries to restore their broken connection and understand the reasons for the past silences and absences. The director touches on the parent-child relationship with great sensitivity, avoiding excessive drama and focusing on the subtle manifestations of human emotions. Critics frequently note that, although not overtly autobiographical, the movie illustrates Hansen-Löwe's interest in themes of memory, family, separation, and the passage of time, all of which reappear in his later works.
