The second session of the first Public Relations Congress of the Armenian General Physical Education and Scouting Union (H.M.E.U.) was held at the National Library of Armenia within the framework of the 2026 Annual Congress of the Armenian General Physical Education Union (H.M.E.U.). Founded in 1918, H.M.E.U. is a pan-Armenian scouting and sports organization that today operates in 26 countries on five continents, uniting more than a hundred branches and thousands of members. H.M.E.U. members and Armenian scouts from different countries of the world participated in the congress.

During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the National Library of Armenia and Homenetmen were discussed, as well as issues related to the preservation, digitization, and bibliographic processing of Armenian sports press, the preservation and popularization of national cultural heritage, as well as ensuring access to historical materials.

A valuable donation was presented to the National Library of Armenia. Vigen Avagyan, Secretary of the Homenetmen Central Board, presented the library with the complete electronic version of the official newspaper "Marzig" and the bibliography of the official newspaper, also in electronic format, which are an important contribution to the preservation, study, and research of the Armenian sports press.

Then, the Executive Chairperson of Homenetmen Central Committee, Hagob Khatcherian, presented the official Homenetmen logo to the National Library of Armenia, and the Chairperson of the Public Relations Committee of the Central Committee, Kevork Hakopjyan, donated printed copies of the official newspaper "Marzig" from recent years, replenishing the National Library's collection with valuable publications reflecting the history of the Armenian sports and scouting movement. The donations will contribute to the enrichment of the electronic databases and printed press collections of the National Library of Armenia, assuring the preservation and accessibility of the rich history of the Armenian sports press and Homenetmen for researchers, readers, and future generations.
