The IV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Memory Institutions, Book and Reading in the Information Society" held October 9-10 in Bishkek was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic, brought together specialists in the fields of culture, publishing, education and information from libraries, museums, and scientific institutions from 10 countries.
Sara Zohrabyan, a staff member of the National Library of Armenia, represented Armenia at the conference and gave a report titled "Armenian Literature in Translations as a Bridge for Cultural Dialogue." The report covered the process of showcasing Armenian literature abroad, the strategic importance of translation policy, and the outcomes of the state program "Armenian Literature in Translations" as a means of fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration.
The conference explored contemporary topics, including reading, memory institutions, and the role of books in the modern information society. It also covered new methods for ensuring accessibility to cultural heritage, digital transformation processes, the difficulties of encouraging reading, and the development of media literacy.
