The results of the top ten most read fiction books in public libraries in Armenia raise mixed thoughts. The picture of September readings is generally similar to previous months. There are many reasons, some of which can be named.

Classical Armenian authors (Khachatur Abovyan, Raffi, Nar Dos, Muratsan, Zohrap, Alexander Shirvanzade), whose works were read by schoolchildren during the summer holidays, predominate in library lists. In recent years, the absolute majority of readers of public libraries are school-age readers and university students. The number of readers of higher education institutions in libraries has sharply decreased. There are many reasons for this: the social situation, insufficient collections of libraries, the growth of digital communication tools, the need to expand the scope of library services, etc.

In addition to educational literature, the top ten most popular books also include novels by Agatha Christie, Alex Michaelis, Alexandre Dumas, Ashot Aghababyan, Dan Brown, Erich Maria Remarque, Kostan Zaryan, Khaled Hosseini, Ruben Yesayan, William Saroyan and other authors. The first three books in the top ten are Khent by Raffi, Ovaz 1-2 by Ashot Aghababyan and The Killed Dove by Nar Doss.

The most popular books in the children's sections of libraries are Fairy Tales by Hovhannes Tumanyan, Anahit by Ghazaros Aghayan, The Secret Garden by Hudson Barnett, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, The Little Prince by Exupery, Three Fat Men by Olesha, Charlie and Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, Prisoners of Hovazadzor by Vakhtang Ananyan, etc.
