Oct 07, 2025 News Book Map of Armenia
Vakhtang Ananyan's hunting stories, Aksel Bakunts' and Derenik Demirchyan's short stories, Stepan Zoryan's "The Story of a Life" and Vahan Tekeyan's novel "Life on the Old Roman Road" make up the top ten most-served books in public and community libraries in Armenia in July.
The content of literature circulated in public libraries in July is mainly determined by the educational assignments of schoolchildren. Authors and books, chosen by readers, occupy lower horizons. It is noticeable that, instead of the novels of Agatha Christie, as well as Remarque and Khaled Hosseini, which have occupied the sole leading positions for about two years, books by Alex Michaelidis, Mike Omer, Ashot Aghababyan, Ruben Yesayan, and Gohar Navasardyan appear more and more often.
The modern reader prefers short novels. The influence of information disseminated through television and social networks on the formation of readers' preferences is noticeable. It would be interesting to know to what extent our monthly publications about the most read fiction books guide our followers in choosing books to read.
