105 books were included in the combined, collated list of the most frequently served fiction books of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, regional and community libraries. This month, the city library system named after Avetik Isahakyan of Yerevan and the library named after Charles Aznavour of Ajapnyak, 10 regional libraries of KGMS, city libraries of Spitak and Stepanavan participated in the survey organized by the National Library.

It is no coincidence that Alexander Shirvanzade's "Chaos" and Axel Bakunts' short stories and the novel "Kores" are leading the list of the most used books in libraries in April. Shirvanzade's novel is included in the compulsory reading school curriculum, and Bakuntsi's "Koryes" was the main book of the month, because on April 19, the National Library of Armenia organized a reading marathon dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Bakuntsi, the main participants of which were the libraries and schools of the republic. Contemporary Armenian writer Ashot Aghababyan is one of the most sought-after authors with his novels "Hovaz 1" and "Hovaz 2" about the first and second Artsakh wars. The writer has regular meetings with his readers in libraries, which pass through crowded halls. Ashot Aghababyan has an "army" of readers and followers who expect new "fans" from the author and are waiting for the writer's new fictional novels.

Like previous months, Alex Michaelidis's novels "The Silent Patient", "Virgins" and "Wrath" hardly stay on the bookshelves. Remarque and Khaled Hosseini, Derenik Demirchyan and Muratsan are among the Armenian classics. Agatha Christie, the queen of detectives, continues her nearly two-year triumph, 12 of whose books are represented in dozens of regional libraries. In recent months, contemporary young writer Ruben Yesayan has entered into competition with Armenian classic writers and foreign best-selling authors, whose horror novels "13 km from the tunnel" and the recently published "Monks have a secret" have secured a place in the most requested book lists of many libraries. "Books about life were not very useful in life. He learned everything by his own bitter experience," says Michaelidis in the book "Virgins". Readers of Armenian libraries will hopefully learn from the books, avoiding the bitter experience.
