On October 16, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Library of Armenia and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. The memorandum was signed by the Director of the National Library of Armenia Anna Chulyan and the Head of the Penitentiary Service Ambakum Grigoryan.

The library will support the penitentiary service by creating electronic libraries for penitentiary institutions, providing books through the interlibrary loan system, organizing advanced training courses for penitentiary library staff, exchanging experiences, and providing other library-bibliographic and information services.

In the majestic presidential hall of the library, the penitentiary service organized a conference on "Problems of Social and Psychological Work in the Penitentiary System", attended by leading experts in the field. One of the speakers noted that he does not remember a scientific conference with such meaningful and important issues for at least the last 10 years.
