Restoration of printed materials plays an important role in preserving cultural heritage. According to the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Libraries and Library Work", the National Library of Armenia is responsible for preserving and restoring physically worn-out, unique, and rare written monuments and library documents.

Professional courses and seminars contribute to the effective implementation of this function of the National Library. Library employees, restorer of the printed materials restoration department Anush Ghazaryan, and librarian of the acquisition department Tatevik Gambaryan, participated in the course "Restoration of a Classic Newspaper" organized by the Russian State Library from July 22 to August 3 and received qualification certificates. Today they presented a report on the course, shared professional details of the two-week training, talked about their experience and useful ideas that they learned, and then answered questions from colleagues.
