"An honest speaker must have a horse so that, having told the truth, he can gallop away on it." Yervand Otyan. On November 13, a book exhibition dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the great Western Armenian writer, satirist, journalist and publicist Yervand Otyan opened at the National Library of Armenia. Samvel Muradyan, literary critic, Doctor of Philology, professor, Honored Scientist of Armenia, Honorary Head of the Department of Armenian Philology at Yerevan State University, Department of History and Theory of Armenian Literature named after Academician Grant Tamrazyan, made a report on Otyan's literary and social activities.

The exhibition features more than 70 books, including rare editions of the writer's works, and dissertations dedicated to the work of Yervand Otyan. The exhibition will be open until the weekend. Yervand Otyan entered the literary arena in the 1890s. From his first literary attempts, he stood out for his rich knowledge and unique style. Otyan's Vashkharu (1893) and Kakhandi Vipak (1895) are among the best pages of modern Armenian fiction.

Here you can get acquainted with Otyan's series Parasites of the Revolution, the trilogy Comrade B. Panjuni (Mission in Tsaplvar, Comrade B. Panjuni in Vaspurakan and My Worldviews, Comrade B. Panjuni in Exile), satires and other works. Otyan's literary heritage is more than three dozen novels, short stories, comedies, short stories, novellas, memoirs, philological studies and translations.
