This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Armenia, actor, screenwriter and director Yervand Manaryan. On November 7, a concert dedicated to the popular actor was organized in the reading room of the Art Department of the National Library of Armenia.

The event participants listened to a speech by the head of the Art Department of the library, Hasmik Arakelyan, accompanied by archival photographs and videos. The reading room displayed works, books and individual articles about Yervand Manaryan published in periodicals.

His son Krist Manaryan shared wonderful and intimate memories of Yervand Manaryan with the guests. Yervand Manaryan's merits are invaluable. He raised Armenian puppet art to a new level, brought it to the international arena, thanks to which the Yerevan Puppet Theater entered the top 10 theaters in the world. Yervand Manaryan was great not only as an actor, director, screenwriter but also as a true intellectual.
