In August, Zulali by Narine Abgaryan was included in the top-list pf books most requested in Armenian libraries. The lists of the most requested books in regional, public, and community libraries of Armenia as of August 2023 include 91 books. Seventeen of them were included in the lists of more than ten libraries. The most popular author is Agatha Christie (8 of her books were included in the lists), followed by Remarque and Gohar Navasardyan (with 3 books each), as well as Narine Abgaryan, Albert Camus, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Elif Shafak, Jules Verne, Marc Levy and Francis Scott Fitzgerald (with 2 books). 

Due to the summer holidays in schools, the library lists are dominated by Armenian classic writers Bakunts, Demirchyan, Zorian, Raffi, represented by various works and publications. The August book map is decorated with the covers of books by 10 Armenian writers, the most famous in the regions and in Yerevan. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie has topped the list of most requested books in the Lori Regional Library for two months without changes. For the first time, one of the founders of Armenian literature of diaspora, Shaan Shahnur, appeared in the top ten books, whose novel Retreat without a Song about the danger of assimilation of the diaspora of Armenians became the most popular book of the month at the Armavir regional library. 

The Ararat Regional Library also mentioned an author not yet included in the top ten. It is Grigor Balasanyan’s novel A Cricket Sings Under the Window, the story of a young man’s struggle in search of his place in life, about his perseverance and determination to find his calling.
