Renowned Canadian-Armenian violinist Martin Bazaryan donated books signed by authors from his parents' rich personal library to the National Library of Armenia. His father, Movses Bazaryan, was the organizer of the repatriation and reception of overseas Armenians in 1946 and served as an inspector for the "Emigration" Committee, where his mother Arta Bazaryan served as a translator.
Among the donated books are works by sculptor Ara Sargsyan, artist Rafael Shishmanyan, Silva Kaputikyan, Levon Mirijanyan, Nairi Zaryan, Sero Khanzadyan, Hovhannes Shiraz, Stepan Alajajyan, Petros Hajiyan, Artem Harutyunyan, and other famous writers. In addition to the books, the library was also presented with a certificate of honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR, awarded to Movses Bazaryan for his assistance in the repatriation and reception of Armenians abroad in 1946. These books carry not only printed heritage but also memories of warm human ties in the form of gift certificates.
Anna Chulyan, Director of the National Library of Armenia, emphasized: -These valuable books will find their place in the autograph collection of the Library’s Intangible Literature Department. The National Library is always ready to accept family libraries, books handed down from generation to generation. We guarantee that the literary legacy entrusted to the library is in capable hands.
