Within the framework of Saroyan Days in Armenia, the National Library of Armenia is organizing an event titled “William Saroyan in the National.” It aims to reveal the panorama of William Saroyan’s works translated into Armenian by various publishing houses around the world, to reveal Saroyan as a prose writer, intellectual, citizen, and public figure. A literary exhibition called "Saroyan's Cultural Influence and Armenian Publications" will open at the National Library of Armenia on September 8 at 2:00 PM.
The following titles are on display: translated works by William Saroyan that have been published in Armenia and in Armenian Diaspora centers, Dissertations defended at research institutes and universities in Armenia devoted to the literature, identity, and style of William Saroyan, William Saroyan's publications in the Republic of Armenia from 1991 to 2025, including publications about his four trips to Armenia and Armenian translations of his writings in Armenian periodicals. Three distinct series of translations from the original language are available from "Antares" Publishing House. (Arqmenik Nikoghosyan and Zaven Boyajyan will present the new publications.)
A presentation of the "William Saroyan" digital collection (https://armunicat.nla.am/) will also be part of the event. Additionally, the "ARLOOPA" app's interactive augmented reality experience "Saroyan" will be showcased, allowing us to see and hear Saroyan.
