The Feast of the Holy Translators is one of the most popular national and religious holidays in Armenia. Today, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the day of memory of six translators: Mesrop Mashtots, his senior and junior students - Yeghishe and Movses Khorenatsi, David Anhaght, as well as Grigor Narekatsi and Nerses Shnorhali.
Translator's Day is associated with the creation of the Armenian alphabet, the first Armenian translation of the Bible, the movement of translators, and the beginning of Armenian education.
