Due to their types, quantities, and importance, cartographic documents have a special place in the funds of the Art Department of the National Library of Armenia. The collection of cartographic documents consists of 11,877 items, including maps – 9967, and atlases - 2914. The collection was recently supplemented with cartographic materials donated by the Armenian geographer and cartographer-cartographer Rouben Galichian:

He has lectured in Europe, the USA, Iran, Armenia and elsewhere. He writes in English, which are translated into Armenian, Russian, and Persian.
