On July 10, 2026, an exclusive exhibition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Hovhannes Naghashyan, a prominent master of Armenian woodcraft and the founder of Armenian furniture making, opened in the History Exhibition Hall of the National Library of Armenia, which is being held jointly with the Yerevan History Museum. The exhibition is a unique opportunity to see exclusive examples of Hovhannes Naghashyan’s creative heritage in one place. The National Library of Armenia presented examples of furniture designed and created by the master: bookcases, desks, showcases, pedestals, sofas, display boards and other valuable objects, which have been preserved in the library for about a century and continue to decorate its halls today. The show featured Hovhannes Naghashyan's original sketches, work tools, personal belongings, photographs, documents, and numerous other priceless things from the Yerevan History Museum's collection, completing the master's artistic portrayal.

Anna Chulyan, Director of the National Library of Armenia, welcomed the participants at the opening of the exhibition. In her speech, she emphasized Hovhannes Naghashyan's exceptional contribution to the development of Armenian applied arts and furniture making, noting that thanks to years of consistent work, today the Library's History Exhibition Hall, as well as other exhibition halls, continue to preserve and present the invaluable furniture samples created by Naghashyan as an important part of the national cultural heritage.

Hovhannes Naghashyan's granddaughter Anush Karapetyan and his great-granddaughters Arevik Ashkharoyan and Liana Mnatsakanyan also attended the exhibition's opening. The latter thanked the director Anna Chulyan for her generosity and personally, emphasizing that usually it is the descendants who initiate the popularization of the creative heritage of their ancestors, while in this case the cultural institution took on this responsibility. “This is a great pride and surprise for us. We are sincerely glad that the creative heritage of our grandfather is presented today with such care and worthy attitude. We are truly happy that our grandfather's artistic legacy is being shown with such consideration and dignity. Liana Mnatsakanyan stated, "This initiative is the best example of how to preserve and revitalize national cultural values."
