The National Library of Armenia has recently been replenished with three valuable publications through the international book exchange program. We received these publications from the Getty Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities (The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, USA), as a token of gratitude. It all started when the Getty Institute asked them in a letter to send them Arsen Harutyunyan's book "Tatev: The Spiritual Citadel of Syunik" (2024), published by the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran, which is dedicated to the manuscript heritage of the Tatev Monastery, the stages of its construction, and spiritual culture.
The response was not long in coming. In response, the library received three exclusive books: The Bible in the Armenian Tradition by Vrezh Nersisyan Published by British and American partners, this richly illustrated book explores the role of the Bible in the Armenian manuscript tradition, the unique features of illuminated iconography, and its significance in preserving Armenian identity.
The Getty Center Design Process by co-authors: Harold M. Williams, Bill Lacy, Stephen D. Rountree, Richard Meier This book presents the architectural design process of the Getty Center, from concept to reality. The Getty Villa by Marion True, Jorge Silvetti Dedicated to the architecture, history, and mission of the Getty Villa to revalue its archaeological heritage. We express our gratitude to the Getty Institute for this significant exchange of cultural values. The books will soon be available to readers and researchers.
