On February 20, 2023, in the Alexander Tamanyan exhibition hall of the National Library of Armenia, a solemn event “Our Benefactors” took place. The event was organized within the framework of Book Giving Day celebration. The director of the National library Anna Chulyan presented a welcoming speech, emphasizing the need for charitable support for libraries and thanking the partners for their support. The director presented certificates to the friends of the library, who for many years have been contributing valuable editions to the library collections.  

 

On the occasion of Book Giving Day the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian donated about 50 editions, that are in great demand among Armenian and foreign readers, to support the collections of 13 libraries of Syunik, Vayotsor, Gegharkunik, Tavush and Ararat regions. The National Library of Armenia also acted as a benefactor and donated books for the soldiers guarding the borders of our Motherland. These books will be donated through regional libraries.   
The book exposition presented the 2022 editions: works by Avo Hovhannisyan, Artsvi Bakhchinyan, Gevorg Yazychyan, Yervand Ter-Minasyan, Erjanik Gevorgyan, Margarita Khachatryan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Felix Bakhchinyan, as well as books donated to the library by the Armenian National Union of Education and Culture and the Organization PEN Armenia.
