The book by literary scholar Aelita Dolukhanyan Ani, the capital of the Armenian Bagratunis through the eyes of foreign Armenian scholars and travelers, presents assessments by English, French, German, and Russian travelers and Armenian scholars. The architecture of Ani was highly praised by the French Armenian scholar, the first major researcher of Ani, Marie Felicite Brosse, Armenian scholars Jacques de Morgan, Charles Dillet, and Edouard Dulaurier, the German geologist Abich, the Georgian orientalist and Armenian scholar Nikolaios Mar, and others. The book has extensive endings in English and French, which will help foreigners learn the true history of the world-famous city of Mets Hayk.
As Ms. Dolukhanyan notes, “Ani is not an earthly, but a heavenly exceptional phenomenon. And it is no coincidence that many historians and researchers call the former capital of Armenia “cosmic Ani”. The book was published with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the grant program "Support for creators, researchers and translators", coordinated by the Department of Popularization of Literature of the National Library of Armenia.
