The 25th anniversary National Library Week kicked off at the National Library of Armenia with a meeting and discussion titled "Transforming the School Library: An Exemplary Model of Automation." The meeting was attended by more than 80 librarians from Yerevan schools, who actively engaged in professional discussions. Anna Chulyan, Director of the National Library of Armenia, welcomed the attendees, addressing the importance of the topic, current issues in the field, and the prospects for their resolution. Examples of successful methods, efficient automation technologies, and contemporary approaches to library management were discussed.

Nerses Hayrapetyan, Chief Librarian of the National Library of Armenia, presented a significant initiative, pointing out that the IFLA-UNESCO School Library Manifesto 2025 has been published in Armenian translation on the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) website at the National Library of Armenia's initiative, ahead of National Library Week, the country's major library event of the year.

Tatevik Tamazyan, the head of the RA State Library's Circulation Department, also joined the discussions. The attendees had the chance to share experiences, bring up sectoral challenges, and talk about solutions in a positive and professionally engaged environment. The model of contemporary school libraries is being to meet the changing needs of the educational setting, evolving from being a place to store books to an active part of the teaching and learning process.
