“There comes a point in life when it’s time to stop reading other people’s books and start writing your own” – Albert Einstein. The July lists of the most popular books at public libraries in Armenia include 78 books by Armenian and foreign writers. 27 books are in the catalogs of more than one library.

In both June and July, the structure of the top lists was related to the summer school lists. The top lists of almost all the libraries included books by classical Armenian authors (Demirchyan, Zoryan, Bakunts, Nar-Dos, Totovents). The stories by Nar-Dos were included in the top lists of five libraries. "Hunter’s stories" by Vakhtang Ananyan, and short stories by Bakuntsi and Derenik Demirchyan have record requests at the Armavir Regional Library.։

As in previous months, the most popular authors are Agatha Christie (eight of her books were on the list) and Narine Abgaryan (three books). About ten writers are represented by two books each. These are the authors whose books are always in the top ten. For the first time, the top lists included modern French writers Muriel Barbery and Anna Gavalda, young writer Rafael Margaryan, Russian writer of Tatar origin Guzel Yakhina and French doctor, writer Jean-Christophe Rufin. The equator of summer reading has passed. Let's see what surprises await us in the August top lists.
